Hello and welcome to the sale of this stunning MK5 Golf GTI. These were a great car back in the day and they still are now! This particular example has had just two previous keepers from new, both living locally to us here in Wiltshire. The car has been very well maintained with a full service history. It has a superb history file with pretty much every service invoice from new by both VW main dealers and specialists, along with every MOT certificate! This car is totally original and unmodified. It comes with the original book packs, manuals and two keys. I have just had a new exhaust fitted, and it will also receive a fresh service, mot and cam belt upon sale. I find this car a very pure form of GTI; three doors and manual gearbox, along with the iconic chequered cloth sports seats, finished in the desirable black metallic, makes it a very simple yet attractive hot hatch. The exterior is in great condition for the age and mileage, with just a few very light marks and chips as you would of course expect. There are no signs of rust on any of the panels or wheel arches which is often associated with this model, and the paint retains a deep shine. I have just had the 18” Monza style alloys refurbished with the correct diamond cut finish, and they look absolutely beautiful. The interior is in exceptionally clean and tidy condition, with minimal wear to the seats and controls, again issues that usually make these cars look scruffy. It has air conditioning, electric windows and mirrors, and a CD changer in the armrest. The car starts, runs and drives very well indeed with no apparent faults, and the 2.0 turbo petrol engine puts the power down well. To sum up this is an exceptionally well looked after example of a very iconic and well regarded hot hatch, and will suit any collector or enthusiast looking for a great daily driver or future classic.
