Hello and welcome to the sale of this stunning Ford Sierra XR4x4.

Originally supplied by Clarkes of Muller Road, Bristol, this car has had just 4 owners from new and still retains the original bill of sale, alongside the original bookpacks and a comprehensive history file which backs up the long term ownership and the very low mileage of just 63,000. This is not a restored car- it is simply a cherished survivor example which has had whatever work required carried out over the course of it's life.

The bodywork is in excellent condition and the flint grey paintwork retains a deep shine, with only very minor blemishes here and there. There is no sign of corrosion and appears to have had very little, if not any welding, and it is as solid underneath as it is on top with no signs of corrosion or blistered paint. The 14" 7 spoke alloy wheels have been professionally refurbished and the tyres have recently been replaced.

The glass still has the period security etching with the original reg number, and it has a period Meta alarm and immobiliser with remote central locking.

The interior is very dry and clean throughout with no signs of damage and very minimal wear. There is a small amount of sagging to the rear headliner but it is not intrusive and possibly a small area of potential improvement for the next long term owner. All the controls are in good working order, including the tilt and slide sunroof, electric windows and mirrors, and the original radio.

Under the bonnet is equally as tidy. The 2.9 V6 engine starts and runs beautifully, remaining in standard form bar the welcome addition of a stainless steel exhaust system, which looks and sounds great, not too loud but with a nice throaty tone under load. It certainly goes extremely well even by modern standards, with that reassuring all wheel drive grip, and will surprise much more modern machinery. You can certainly see why these were held in such high regard back in the day!

On the road it tracks straight and true, with no knocks or bangs and a positive feel from the power steering. The brakes are excellent and it pulls up square under braking. The clutch feels good and the 5 speed gearbox is slick. Overall it is a joy to drive and very capable of brisk performance or relaxed cruising.

To sum up this is an extremely genuine, usable and attractive example of this fast yet practical Ford, it is ready to use and enjoy, it wants for very little if anything, and I am sure the new owner will be very pleased.
