This is a German manufactured Ford Cortina mk4 1.6 L with the 4 speed manual gearbox. It was late registered in Somerset on a 'V' reg in August 1979, by which time the mk5 models were already in circulation. Since then it has covered 73k miles with corresponding mot history. It is in beautiful survivor condition throughout. Whilst I would in no way describe this as restored vehicle, it has been carefully recommissioned and maintained over recent years by it's fastidious enthusiast owner. The incredibly clean and solid shell was treated to a professional re spray approximately six years ago to a very high standard to keep it looking fresh. The correct black pin stripe was then added. No panel replacement or welding was required during this process. In fact we believe all the panels to be original and factory fitted, bar the nsf wing which appears to have been professionally replaced very early in it's life with a genuine part.
Furthermore, it has been thoughtfully improved with various period correct genuine dealer fit options including Motorola radio, over riders, additional lamps and a set of five sports steel wheels with recent modern tyres.
Many NOS parts have been sourced and fitted throughout the vehicle to ensure the best possible condition and authenticity. All the chrome is in top condition, as are the rubbers and all the glass including the windscreen are believed to be original. The interior is also in superb order, with all trims present, correct and intact. All the controls and switch gear operate beautifully. The headlining is also free from damage or sagging. A lovely set of fitted carpet mats finish it off nicely. Whilst it is now road tax and MOT exempt, it has had an MOT carried out to ensure the car is safe and roadworthy. It is running and driving very well indeed, with the engine firing up straight away with just a little choke from dead cold, returning to a steady idle once warm and providing more than adequate performance to keep up with modern traffic. It stops and steers in the same positive fashion.
Once a common sight, this is probably now amongst one of the rarest variants left.
